Pearson
The spinoff of the much loved Suits courtroom drama has been canceled. This happened six weeks after the show aired their 10th episode because it couldn’t capture the expansive audience like its parent show had done. It only averaged half the viewership, so it’s being cancelled.
Sunnyside
The Kal Penn comedy was canceled in October because its premiere in September earned the lowest ratings of any freshman broadcast series of the season. It’s viewership continued to dip but NBC will continue to air the remaining episodes on NBC.com.
Lodge 49
AMC canceled the series after its second season. The network has said in a statement that they’re proud to have had Lodge 49 on air. They believe that it was a wonderful show and that it gave audiences unforgettable characters.
The InBetween
NBC canceled this freshman drama starring Harriet Dyer after only one season. The InBetween managed to draw some of the lowest ratings of their summer lineup. Most of the executive producers and creators have already moved on to other projects.
Grand Hotel
ABC has opted to close the Grand Hotel’s doors by not renewing the show. Season one had middling ratings in its freshman run so there will be no season two. Eva Longoria starred and was the executive producer of this show.
Designated Survivor
Netflix saved this ABC series but it seems it was only temporarily because it has now been officially canceled. Netflix brought the series back to life by airing its third season but has decided against continuing for a fourth season.
Tuca & Bertie
This new adult animated series was canceled by Netflix after only one season. The show earned strong reviews from critics but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to draw in viewers. Tuca & Bertie features Ali Wong and Tiffany Haddish in the lead vocal roles.
She’s Gotta Have It
Netflix has also canned She’s Gotta Have It. This Spike Lee adaptation was canceled less than two months after the premiere of its second season. Lee is hoping to take the series to other platforms so it might not be over indefinitely.
Ransom
Ransom was axed after three seasons. The cancelation was announced in July via their official Twitter account. The tweet on #Ranson fans said that they were lucky to have shared three seasons with the fans but that they have to bid farewell.
Chambers
It seems Netflix was on a roll when it comes to canceling shows this year. Chambers was another series that got axed. Despite its star-studded cast, the series received lukewarm reviews and their viewership was lackluster. It premiered in April and was canceled in June.
Murphy Brown
After only one season, CBS canceled the revival of the series. Ratings had started strong but they started to decline rapidly, leading to CBX axing the series after only 13 episodes. Candice Bergen had won five Emmys for her role in the original Murphy Brown.
The Fix
This ABC legal thriller produced by Marcia Clark is not coming back for a second season. O.J. Simpson was the executive producer and co-writer of The Fix. it was canceled shortly before the end of its season one finale episode.
I Feel Bad
This freshman comedy aired earlier this year on NBC and it just couldn’t be saved. Not even by its executive producer, Amy Poehler. I Feel Bad failed to gain any traction with viewers and only aired 13 episodes. Its mediocre reviews didn’t help either.
BH90210
BH90210 is Fox’s reboot of the much loved Beverly Hills 90210. However, this reboot wasn’t as popular and it was canceled after its first season. Fox said in a statement that they were thrilled to have had a chance to reunite for the summer.
Fam
Fam is a CBS comedy series starring Tone Bell and Nina Dobrev. The midseason show had a very poor viewership during its run so it won’t be returning for a second season. It apparently ranked seventh among other CBS comedies.
Happy Together
Happy Together is a CBS comedy series that only ran for 13 episodes before being canceled. It had very low ratings and was therefore axed after only one season. Its first and only season finale will be aired in January 2020.
The Kids Are Alright
In May this year, ABC pulled the plug on this 1970s-set series. It had a loyal fanbase but the viewership wasn’t big enough to motivate the network to keep it. Karey Burke, ABC president, made a statement saying it was a decision based on ratings.
The Passage
The Passage had gotten off to a good start and the ratings were good but viewership decreased throughout the season. This decline made Fox rethink whether to keep the thriller series for another season. They opted to cancel it in May.
The Ranch
This series was renewed by Netflix for a fourth season in August. This series was the first to introduce the model where 20 episodes are split into two halves. The first half was available from September but the last ever 10 episodes will only launch in 2020.
The Cool Kids
Fox axed this comedy series in May this year. The Cool Kids starring Vicki Lawrence, David Alan Grier, and Leslie Jordan only aired for one season. It premiered last fall and it had a large number of viewers but it faded rapidly.
Proven Innocent
This legal drama starring Kelsey Grammer and Rachelle Lefevre was canceled abruptly by Fox in May. The day after its season finale aired an announcement was made that that was going to be the last episode ever.
SMILF
In 2018 there was much controversy after a staff member filed a complaint of improper crediting and compensation as well as race-based separation against one of its cast members, Franki Shaw. thereafter Showtime decided that there would be no third season of SMILF.
Santa Clarita Diet
Less than a month after its third season was released Netflix officially canceled the show. It had developed a cult following and viewers were trying to save it through the Twitter campaign #SaveSantaClaritaDiet. But their efforts were futile and it was canceled in April.
Lethal Weapon
In 2018, after on-set behavioral issues, Fox fired co-star Clayne Crawford. Even though they had hired Sean William Scott to replace Crawford, viewer ratings started dropping. After Damon Wayans mentioned he was considering leaving, Fox decided to pull the plug indefinitely in May.
Speechless
Speechless finally reached the end of its road after its third season. In May, ABC decided to cancel the show a month after its third season finale aired. During its run, the show actually won a prize for Outstanding Achievement in Youth Programming.
Splitting Up Together
May was a month of cancelations for ABC and it included Splitting Up Together. The show starred Oliver Hudson and Jenna Fisher as a couple who continued to live together after their divorce. It was, unfortunately, one of ABC’s lowest-rated comedies.
One Day At A Time
Fans were shocked when this critically acclaimed sitcom was canceled. This Latino-themed version of the 70s hit had earned rave reviews and a huge fanbase. Despite this, Netflix decided against keeping it. Luckily, Pop TV has picked it up with a fourth season airing in 2020.
The Punisher
Only a month after its second season aired, the show was canceled. This was one of the last remaining Marvel series. Netflix confirmed in February this year that The Punisher would not be returning for a third season.
Jessica Jones
At the same time that Netflix announced the end of The Punisher, they revealed that Jessica Jones’ third season would be its last. This signals the end of a deal between Netflix and Marvel which first started in 2013.
Friends From College
It seems Netflix is cleaning house this year because they’ve canceled many shows. Friends From College is another one to get axed by the streamer. The director and co-creator confirmed on Twitter that the show won’t be returning for a third season.
The Big Bang Theory
After 12 successful seasons, it seems The Big Bang Theory is officially over. According to Entertainment Weekly, Jim Parsons felt that it was time to walk away and hence didn’t extend his contract for another two years. That pretty much was why it ended.
Orange Is The New Black
This was a sad summer for fans of Orange is The New Black as they said goodbye to those orange jumpsuits. Netflix had revealed in 2018 that the series’ seventh season would be its last. Its final season premiered in July and earned rave reviews.
Veep
In March 2019, Veep returned for its final season after giving star Julia Louis-Dreyfus time off to undergo treatment for breast cancer. Season seven is its last season and is packed with crazy campaign tactics that will captivate its audience one last time.
The Affair
Even though The Affair is a Golden Globe-winning drama, its fifth season is the end of the road for them. Showtime shared that they had always planned to run the series for five seasons. The last season sees Anna Paquin joining the cast.
Legion
This series was FX’s spin-off of X-Men and it returned for its final season in June. The third season determined the fate of its key character, the powerful mutant, David Haller, played by Dan Stevens. Professor X was played by Harry Lloyd.
Nightflyers
SyFy co-produced this costly George R.R Martin drama with Netflix. The show was sadly canceled in February after only one season. The ambitious investment didn’t quite go the way they had hoped it would because of low ratings.
The Counterpart
Starz has revealed that they won’t be bringing the spy drama back for a third season. Justin Marks, the showrunner and creator tweeted that the show would be canceled but also hinted that MRC will be looking for a new home for the series.
The First
After only one season, Hulu announced the cancelation of the show. It starred Sean Penn and it was about an astronaut crew that was attempting to be the first humans on Mars. The series, unfortunately, didn’t get enough viewership to keep it running.
The Deuce
This 70s-set drama has recently completed its third and final season. The show had earned solid reviews but its ratings were merely modest. Its final season premiered in September and concluded after a few episodes at the end of October.
I Love You, America
This show starring Sarah Silverman was canceled by Hulu after only two seasons. It featured well-known guests and tackled current events. The show had earned positive reviews and some award season attention but viewership was low, hence the decision to cancel it.
Trial & Error
NBC confirmed in January this year that the goofy legal comedy wouldn’t be returning for a third season. Since NBC canceled the show, Warner Bros. TV has been trying to find another network that will be willing to take it on.
iZombie
The summer of 2019 was the last time fans would be able to enjoy iZombie. the series ran for five seasons before it was canceled. Rose McIver, a star of the show tweeted to fans explaining how the fifth season would be the last.
Travelers
The sci-fi drama Travelers was another show to get axed by Netflix. Eric McCormack played the role of the leader of a team of highly trained operatives from the future. The show depicts what happens when these operatives travel back to the 21st century.
Chanel Zero
Chanel Zero is a horror anthology series by SyFy. one of its cast members, Nick Antosca, revealed on Instagram that after four seasons the show wasn’t going to be on SyFy any longer. He went on to stay how he loved making the show.
Homeland
Homeland may not be over yet but it will be wrapping up soon. Its final season has been postponed until February 2020. Apparently the last 12 episodes audiences will see Carri Mathison jumping between countries but will mostly center in Israel.
Fuller House
It looks like fans will have to say a final goodbye to the Tanner family and their friends. Just as its predecessor Full House, Fuller House must come to an end. It was announced that the Netflix family sitcom’s fifth season will be its last.
Mr. Robot
Fall 2019 will see the end of Mr. Robot. Season four kicked off in October and this last chapter wrapped up by the end of November. Star Rami Malek had promised its viewers and epic and climactic ending and he did not disappoint.
The Man In The High Castle
Amazon’s acclaimed series is said to end after its fourth season. It was based on Philip K. Dick’s 1962 novel also named The Man In The High Castle. Its upcoming fourth and final season premiered on November 15.
Criminal Minds
Criminal Minds’ 15th season will be its last season ever. This long-running drama will wrap up after 10 episodes which are set to air during the 2019-2020 period. The news was official when CBS announced it via their Twitter account.
Poldark
Poldark’s fifth and final season is currently airing in the U.S. Several cast members shared photos on social media on their final days on set. A photo of the cast was posted on Instagram with the caption “And that’s our final wrap!”
How To Get Away With Murder
After years of twists and turns its time for the Keating Four to graduate. The sixth season of How To Get Away With Murder will be its final season. It kicked off in September and it consisted of 15 episodes dubbed the “Killer Final Season.”
Lucifer
The date for Lucifer’s fifth and final season premiere has yet to be confirmed. It was revealed by star Tom Ellis that the final season will be split into two parts and each half will consist of 8 episodes. This was confirmed in June by Netflix.
The Rain
This Danish original drama series takes place six years after a virus carried by the rain killed almost all human life in Scandinavia. Although season two consisted of only six episodes, it hasn’t been confirmed how long its third and final season will be.
The Good Place
This NBC sitcom had great reviews, but unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. The show’s creator Mike Schur told TVLine that he’d always planned the show to be four seasons long. The final season will consist of 14 episodes.
Game Of Thrones
This epic series came to an end during the summer of 2019, much to the dismay of its fans. Fans were left heartbroken knowing that Game Of Thrones was officially over, its eighth and final season left many of them disappointed.
13 Reasons Why
This Netflix favorite’s fourth season is officially their last. This controversial high school drama had audiences captivated every season. They were always left wanting more. Now the end has finally come and there will be no fifth season.
Blindspot
NBC had renewed this crime drama series for a fifth season and announced that it’ll be its final season. The show starring Jamie Alexander and Sullivan Stapelton first premiered in September 2015. There’s writers will no doubt give this thrilling series a satisfying ending.
Arrow
This action-packed superhero television series has marveled audiences for eight seasons. It stars Stephen Amell and is based on the DC Comics Character named the Green Arrow. Its eight and final season premiered in October and concluded after 10 episodes.
Vikings
Vikings is a historical drama series that was filmed in Ireland and premiered in March 2013. The series transports its audiences to the mysterious yet brutal world of a Viking warrior and farmer named Ragnar Lothbrok. The series concluded after its sixth season.
Shadowhunters
This supernatural drama series dives into the life of Clary Fray, a teenager who on her 18th birthday finds out that she’s a human-angel hybrid who must hunt down demons. Season three was it last season and its two-hour finale aired in spring 2019.
